          Comments about Mughal Embroidered Tunic:

This Chikan embroidery fabric is thin and, for some, will require a camisole. (although I think it is fine without it) I always wear a light linen cami, so this is perfect. I bought one, loved it and immediately bought a second. I travel to very hot climates and always like a backup.

The shape is flattering, flaring just a tad at the bottom. It is not too long, thank goodness! I am 5'7, and the tunic hits me where it is hitting the model in the picture. So many tunics completely cover your derrière, which makes you look larger, not smaller. Mine arrived in perfect shape and is exactly what I was looking for.

                  Comments about Mughal Embroidered Tunic:

When you wash it, it wrinkles terribly. One sleeve had a hole in it. The quality just wasn't there for the price.

The Punjab region in northern India is brimming with highly creative artisans who make everything from ornate jewelry to detailed needlework bedding and fabric. This classic tunic represents those decorative arts with subtle tone-on-tone embroidery trimming the neck and cuffs and accented by a scattering of beads across the body and tiny bell buttons at the neckline. This embroidered tunic evolved from a typical Punjabi garment called a kameez, a loose cotton shirt with an airy quality to keep you cool. Made in India.

Our embroidered tunic brings a burst of colorful flowers to your spring wardrobe. Artisans in a family-run Delhi workshop use nine shades of hand-dyed cotton thread to embroider flowers along the collar and sleeves of a traditional, split-V-neck cotton tunic. Yellow whipstitching along the cuffs and hem adds a finishing touch. Made in India.

The 17th-century Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, best known for erecting the Taj Mahal, built Delhi's Red Fort as his capital in 1648. Its intricate architectural details have inspired artists ever since, including the designer of this heavily embroidered, sky blue tunic.

Artisans in India mimic traditional embroidery patterns by using wax-resist batik to create an ivory-hued design along the neckline, hem, and sleeves of this cotton-knit tunic. Butterflies also decorate the navy and turquoise tie-dyed background. Clear sequins add sparkle to a casual split-V-neck, 3/4-sleeve design.

Throughout India, embroidery and needlework are highly developed local folk arts. In the region of Kashmir, however, needlework is the domain of highly skilled royal craftspeople. Worked in flat chain stitch, embroidery flows like brushstrokes across this distinctive cotton canvas jacket. The cut is an updated and relaxed version of the popular Nehru style. Fully lined. Made in India.

Lacy screen-printed patterns and hand-embroidered flowers transform a classic T-shirt into an artful garment. The printed designs are inspired by the rice-powder drawings that women create in front of their homes in southern India. Called kolam, the drawings are meant to bring good fortune to all who dwell in the house.

Throughout India, Hindu festivals are accompanied by intricate rangoli—designs “painted” on the ground using rice, sand, even flower petals. These auspicious symbols are the inspiration for the embroidered designs on our black travel shirt. At the center of each medallion along the neckline is a small mirror, a traditional part of Diwali decorations in northwestern India. An ideal travel shirt, the soft knit resists wrinkles and drapes beautifully the moment it’s unpacked. Purple seams decorate the front and back.

The Calico Museum in Ahmadabad houses India’s most important textile collection. The pattern of this silk-modal-blend tunic, called a kurta, is inspired by the museum’s early-19th-century printed fabrics made for trade with Europe. Hand-sewn pearlescent sequins add sparkle to the split V-neck design.
