Comments about National Geographic Explorer Backpack - Medium:

I bought this bag for my trip to Australia last year, to mostly hold my camera and laptop while on the plane. I used this all the time during our trip and found it really useful for everyday fun and outings. It carried all my gear, Canon Rebel T3i, two lenses, charger, flash, strap, and filters with ease. Tons of pockets and doubled as a 15.4" laptop carrier too. Very useful and very rugged. I loved it!!

Comments about National Geographic Explorer Backpack - Medium:

This is a great bag. Probably the nicest camera bag I have owned. The flaws are minor. It has a great amount of space and is incredibly well built. It also comes with a decent rain cover. The only drawbacks where that the bag really doesn't have enough room in the camera compartment for a full size professional DSLR like a Canon 1Ds. I ended up having to put mine in the top compartment which is less than ideal. Also the dividers are stitched to really only have 1 configuration. This doesn't allow for me to adjust them to different size lenses. The last thing is the lack of a waist belt. For a bag this big designed to carry this much gear there really is no reason it should not have a padded waist belt. None of these things were enough to make me go down a star but I hope NatGeo takes this into consideration for a rev or the design for the next set of camera bags.

Comments about National Geographic Explorer Backpack - Medium:

      I love this bag.

I own at least a dozen bags and this one takes the cake.

I carry a dslr with grip with a 18-135mm lens attached, a 75-300mm lens, a 50mm lens, an external drive, all of my tripod gear, maps, gps, flash, remotes, memory cards, batteries for everything...the list goes on and on.`

This bag can be customized for just about anything you may need and the number, and variety, of pockets allows for prioritization of gear while keeping everything secure.

I have dragged this bag through all sorts of nastiness in northern BC and it has taken everything that was thrown at it...sticks, thorns, rocks, wind, rain...all of it.

My only concern is that this is a nice bag with the NG logo on it so it is a potential target for the criminal element...keep an eye on it. :)

Comments about National Geographic Explorer Backpack - Medium:

I own this bag and the explorer shoulder medium bag as well.

I am beyond happy with both. I use my backpack for long hiking trips where the equipment is best packed in the backpack. The shoulder model I use for most all other transport of my photographic equipment. I like that the backpack has a computer area as this was a deciding factor for my choice. I looked forever to find a style of bags that fit my taste and the explorer series is spot on with what I like. The functionality is wonderful and the quality of construction, while it is not as durable as a leather bag, the hemp is pretty strong. Padding is there for your camera and lenses, not pillowie soft but similar to what you will find in any other camera bag. Closed cell foam.

I successfully carry these items in this bag:
        -Canon EOS 7D with grip
        -17-50 f/2.8
        -70-200 f/2.8 L
        -8-16 f/4.5
        -(2) 580EX2 flashes
        -15.4" laptop
-extra batteries and parts and accessories
-Manfrotto tripod attached to exterior with draw straps

I have done some minor modifying to mine to strengthen and customize both of my bags. If not for the original design and quality and color and materials of these bags, I would still be looking. I am very, very happy with their products and both my bags.
