Comments about Journey to the Edge of the Universe - Blu-Ray Disc:

I bought this after first seeing what was apparently the UK version of this video, narrated by Sean Pertwee. His narration was perfect with the right amount of emotional intensity added to is. I decided to order the Blu-ray for myself to find that it is only narrated by Alec Baldwin. His is no where near as good of a narrator as Sean Pertwee, almost pedestrian. Doesn't even sound like he is trying! If you can get your hands on the Sean Pertwee version of this then grab it. If not then you might find the video a little disappointing despite the incredible graphics presentation.

Wildebeests, zebras, red crabs, Mali elephants, walruses, monarch butterflies, jellyfish, and whale sharks will all be on display, and the production crew traveled some 420,000 miles, filming hundreds of stories in more than 20 countries. Using new science and technology, the series reveals how animals make death-defying journeys to survive. Great Migrations is the largest undertaking of its kind in the National Geographic Society’s 120-year history. The seven-hour miniseries premieres globally in fall 2010. National Geographic’s net proceeds support vital exploration, conservation, research, and education.
