One of the most sensitive, top secret missions eliminated America’s number one terrorist target, Osama bin Laden, but the celebration was almost immediately tempered by thorny questions. How did the U.S. finally catch up with the terrorist mastermind who eluded capture for nearly a decade? Why was he able to hide in plain sight just yards away from Pakistan’s most prestigious military academy? Was he able to direct attacks from his hideout? And why did the man who vowed to resist to his last breath give up his life with not much of a fight?

National Geographic reveals the inside story of how the U.S. gathered the intelligence needed to pull off the surprise attack, with insight from former CIA agents, Navy SEAL operatives and high-ranking government officials, including retired general and CIA director David Petraeus. Acclaimed journalist Peter Bergen—the first Westerner to whom Osama bin Laden revealed his intention to wage a terrorist war on the West, and who is one of a small handful to have even met him—heads to Pakistan for answers on the ground.

Comments about The Last Days of Osama Bin Laden DVD-R:

After surviving 9/11, and watching innocent people die horrific deaths,I felt that until Osama bin Laden was located and executed, it was as if bin Laden had gotten away with mass murder. Now bin Laden is no longer a threat to the world.
God Bless our Navy Seals, and all of America's Military men and women..

How did Ali A. Mohamed, a radical ex–Egyptian Army sergeant, survive inside the United States for more than 14 years as a mole for Egyptian Islamic Jihad and al Qaeda? This master spy convinced the CIA to hire him and worked for the FBI as an informant, but he was ''triple crossing'' U.S. officials. This special connects the dots using insight from FBI, military, and justice department officials who help reveal how one man exploited gaps in the U.S. intelligence community.

Unsettling transformations are sweeping across the planet, and clue by clue, investigators are discovering ways that seemingly disparate events are connected. Crumbling houses in New Orleans are linked to voracious creatures from southern China. An asthma epidemic in the Caribbean is connected to dust storms in Africa. Erratic behavior of olive baboons in Ghana is linked to human overfishing of the world's oceans.

Strange Days on Planet Earth explores the ways in which human life has affected the planet and how globally connected problems are personally relevant and urgent. It brings into focus the realization that the decisions we make today will affect all life on Earth for years to come. Actor-writer-director Edward Norton hosts six eye-opening episodes, each uncovering explanations behind some of today's most puzzling environmental changes.

Against all odds, one visionary African leader and a group of dedicated scientists defied the conventional wisdom that insists oil and logging are the only way to bring prosperity to an impoverished land. Out of the wild they created 13 new national parks—and are now developing an eco-tourism industry to sustain them. Gabon: The Last Eden tells this amazing story with stunning footage— silverback gorillas defending territory, mandrill baboons' faces splashed with day-glow color, and hippos wallowing in the ocean—exploring one of the planet's last true wildernesses and what is being done to save it.
