Nautical maps can inspire seaside daydreams as well as provide a wealth of information for safe sailing. With coastal outlines and depth markings, boaters can begin to read the topography of the world away from land. Provide us with your favorite U.S. town or landmark that is located on the coastline of the Atlantic or Pacific (including Alaska and Hawaii) or the Great Lakes, and artisans in New England will screen-print a local chart on rustic, tumbled marble to create an analog clock.
Comes ready to hang, or use our forged-steel easel (sold separately) to display the clock as a desk accessory. If you'd like a clock featuring an inland waterway, please see our National Geographic "My Town" TOPO! Map Clock.
One AA battery, not included. 8" square.
What is a nautical chart? Nautical charts are graphic displays of an ocean coastal area. They show depths of water, features of the seabed, details of the coastline, navigational hazards, and approaches to land. Scale can vary greatly.
Can I order a nautical chart of any body of water? Nautical charts are created for ocean coastal areas, but we do have charts for many larger rivers and lakes too. We will suggest other options if we don’t have a chart that fits your request.
Why do you need me to specify the nearest town? The nearest town can guide us to your specific waterway if we have multiple options or the waterway name is the same in a few states. For example:
Why is my street not pictured/labeled on the chart? Nautical charts usually do not show street-level details. In some highly populated areas or ports, streets will be illustrated but not labeled. If you are looking for more street details, our National Geographic “My Town” TOPO! Map Coasters or National Geographic “My Town” TOPO! Map Clock are better options.
Our rustic tiles are carved from large marble blocks, ensuring that no two stones will ever be exactly alike. Then the pieces are tumbled to give them character that can be seen on every surface, edge, and corner. The result is a one-of-a-kind keepsake with more personality that would be possible from a piece of manufactured ceramic. Please see additional images for an example of a tumbled marble tile.
