I wanted this for light hiking and so far I am happy with the simple functionality. I haven't completely tested it yet (the forecasting seems more optimistic than reality proves), but it's accurate for temperature - my main interest. Self-contained, so no signal problems! A simple tool for a simple job!

Not the best buy ... there are several things.

      1. Thermal couple is on the back of the watch so you can't get accurate temp on your belts same is true if your pack is wet and it is there.
      2. the carabiner detached the day after I started using it and took an hour to fix. Attachment is flimsy.

It is the only one of kind and is light to carry.
      3. It does not appear to be waterproof or even water resistant ...
      4. you need a magnifying glass to read some of the numbers

Instructions are not clear and appear to be a translation ... or poorly translated ...

Great concept and nice clip, but the device contains too much information and therefore hard to read. Very little information comes with the device, and I don't know if it is working properly.

Comments about National Geographic Mini Weather Clip:

We have been playing with the mini weather station in our backyard. Had hoped it would give enough information to tell us if we need rain gear while we are out of range of a TV. Also, to tip us to up coming bad weather while outside. My husband was a pilot in the Navy so thought he could figure it out. His words, "Worthless".
      Should return it.

This is on the ledge outside my kitchen window - I check it several times a day for barometer and variations of pressure in past few hours, humidity, temp. mainly - can also be used to check several other conditions when needed.

Prices on other instruments can run to several hundred dollars without the additional features which I enjoy. The price is just right on this one.

Have had two of these. Had them both at the same time for a week to compare. Kept them outside so I could get a real weather reading.
Hygrometer never had a reading over 60%., doesn't work when temp drops below freezing. Neither showed anything but a reading of "dry".

Cannot recommend this one ... the price is good but here are the cons: it uses a battery every 8 months or so, After two years mine simply stopped working, the thermal couple is on the back so it does not keep accurate temperature when on your "belt loop" it is extremely slow to change temperatures up to 20 minutes ... so you get what you pay for and this is considerably cheaper than other watches that do the same thing so your choice ...
