Nice light weight, comfortable and the colors are great! Fit's on the large side, I usually take a medium but small fit's me great.

I was looking forward to this tunic, but was quite disappointed to find that it was not only darker than anticipated but, more importantly, the material is see-through - which for me means I'd need to wear some kind of camisole underneath; consequently, I have returned it. I really appreciate the sensitive and friendly customer-oriented approach of NG.

Comments about Indian Peacock Paisley Tunic:

Loved this tunic; it was so colorful and vivid. It fit but I got the XL. Good thing because a large would not have fit (and I normally wear M/L). Light gauzy material; don't know how strong it is. I was afraid if I moved wrong, it might rip. It didn't but I didn't wear it that long. I would buy it again though.

Comments about Indian Peacock Paisley Tunic:

Tunic is very long, and the slits go up very high. Color is more muted than the in the photograph. Material is light-weight which is a plus, since I live in a tropical environment. Would look best on a tall person.

Comments about Indian Peacock Paisley Tunic:

What attracted me to this was the beautiful paisley, especially the brilliant crisp colors described as "peacock." What I received is of much darker shades, muted, more like a peacock in molt! Although still very pretty, it was quite a bit off the mark as far as color correctness, both to photo match and copy description. The very thin cotton muslin is quality fabric, soft and comfy, great in my climate for a shirt with longer sleeves. But, to wear as overshirt or with tank, etc, would have to purchase a size, maybe 2, larger.

Comments about Indian Peacock Paisley Tunic:

I have ordered several tops from National Geographic and they have all fit well. The fit of this top was a huge disappointment to me as the bust line is too tight and, because I ordered an XL there is not a larger size for me to select. Sadly, I sent this top back. The colors are beautiful. I planned to wear this top to work and for casual as well.

During the 19th century, paisley shawls from India were all the rage in Europe and America. Later, in the early years of the 20th century, women who had inherited their grandmother’s heirloom shawls often refashioned the fabric into dresses and jackets more appropriate for the jazz age. This sheer butterfly-sleeve tunic is made in the same spirit of transformation, and updates a timeless paisley pattern in a contemporary style. Poly georgette with elastic ruching at the waist. Indian textiles have been influencing world fashion for centuries. In the mid-19th century, women clamored for paisley patterns on Kashmiri shawls. In Hindu cosmology, the god of war rides a peacock. Beautiful and proud, Kartikeya’s peacock mount represents his power to conquer earthly desires—even the peacock’s well-deserved ego. The woven pattern of this beautiful hand-loomed shawl resembles peacock feathers, and the fiery red-orange interior shines through the dark blues, greens, and blacks with a slight ombré effect. Similar in style to a Peruvian ruana, this wrap can be worn as a layering piece when a day at the museum turns into a night of strolling unfamiliar streets. It is also a perfect personal throw for home or travel.
