The multistrand style of knitting known as Fair Isle takes its name from the tiny Scottish island where it originated. The most remote inhabited island in the United Kingdom, Fair Isle is currently home to fewer than 70 people, but its traditional knitting style is known around the world. This yoked cardigan is knit in Peterhead, Scotland, on the northeast coast of the mainland, using 100% merino wool from Ireland.
